@sarahlloyd this was growing over bryophytes on a cut log face.
or Lepidoderma (Polyschisium) trevelyanii. Collected from alluviual fan near avalanche slope 18 Sept 2022. Growing on dead Populus bark and Rubus parviflorus stalks.
Found with @sarahlloyd on dead clematis vine.

Pretty easy one to ID with the sessile, cylindrical sporocarp, and very distinct coarsely reticulated spores. Elaters have multiple spiral bands and end with an abrupt smooth point, and have occasional spikes.
I found this sample still immature on Quercus ilex (photo 4) 18/10/2004
