Spores 16-17 X 6-7 µm.
Not sure of ID. Was unable to find examples of spores or micro for this sp.
Growing on aspen first i thought it was a darker oyster but had the hexagonal pores
There were a lot of Sitka Spruce around. We were on the trails of College Cove. This stick was on the ground in the duff.
This was growing out of a rotting tree branch, in a conifer forest. The cap is convex and circular~ likely due to being a young specimen.. and has tufts of velvety hairs, slightly depressed center, and the color is tan warm brown. The stipe is central (unusual for this species) and equal, white. The pores are bright white and shallow angular pores that run down the stipe (decurrent).
