Growing on alluvial terrace in Kaituna Valley Reserve. The stream flowing through the small reserve floods reasonably regularly, washing the forest floor clean, but soil appears to drain reasonably well.

Kiokio? It has a reduced pair at the base but not all fronds has it.. Fronds look a little slim, because its growing in shady scrub? There is quite a few.
