Growing low to the ground (1-2” tall maximum). This is the only plant of this kind with white that I saw in the immediate area. Roughly 50 yards away or so I found another single plant with white on the outer edges of the leaves like this.
Wondering if these are ebony cup (pseudoplectania nigrella), but they were fairly large. 1.25-1.5” across
Carter County, TN, spotted on the roadside at the top of a grassy grade, possible former site of a small apple orchard. It was in the open, exposed to sun in grass. Only one observed.
