Multiple plants seemed to have self seeded on edge of planted area.
Rather uncommon (and I have yet to see mature specimens). occasionaly saplings noted within the headwaters of the Kaipatiki and also on the margins of the gumland scrub.
Observed around five mature trees on island mainly in steep valleys, more common in habitat of Kauri forest than broadleaf forest. Also seen multiple seedlings.
Self seeded in garden bed beneath large mature karaka, Corynocarpus laevigatus.
I think this is marram grass trying to hold on at the edge of the escarpment.
Rare in dry grassland.
Fighting for space amongst all the weeds, particularly smooth catsear and exotic grasses.
This is the sad reality facing our native dryland plants - the stonefield/mossfields are very vulnerable to exotic plant invasion.
