Spore deposit white. Odor farinaceous. Cap 6 - 16 mm across, hygrophanous, not viscid. Stipe 2.2 - 4.8 cm long x 1 - 4 mm thick, no bulb at stipe base, not viscid. Gills not marginate. Basidia four-spored, 25 x 8 - 9.8 µm. Growing on Pinus contorta needles. Spores oval with isolated warts up to 0.6 µm high.
Initially thought it might be a type of Mycena, but then I saw the warted spores! Very unusual!

Growing with Oregon white oak, in riparian woodland with ash and alder. Fresh ones with faint sour odor, old ones very strong, sour moldy cheese odor. Hysterangium?
