There may only be one or two individuals here. It seems I’ve photographed this individual several times, note the evidence of buckshot on the carapace.
Black and white barred underwing and undertail, double wing flash, short, blunt central rects, heavy bodied and broad winged. Lazily moving south onshore with HERG.
terrible light but great bird :)
This was a heavily debated bird. On the sight it was identified as a pom, but other skilled birders lean towards PAJA. Not sure myself.
lightt morph juv., came off lake passed nearly overhead and continued inland almost without pause - my 2nd Lambton record
Female ovipositing in wet meadow, which is now fen-like. Male patrolling nearby. Horrible pic but it’s the best I have so far.
Placeholder in lieu of photos. Would be new county species. 2nd sight record Aug 4, 2023, Ipperwash Barrens
Follow up visit from last night. With SC, MP and PC. Netted by SC
Circular cerci seen well in the field. One of about 5 here. 1st Lambton record that I’m aware of
Thanks to James and Matt for alerting us to their find. We were right around the corner doing the same thing that they were.
