Thick, tall plant with very round and thick leaves. It has red buds on the ends and some leaves had sharp thorns. It was found on a hillside in the sun on dry soil.
The keel is mostly glabrous but perhaps I missed the ciliate part in the picture/when looking at it.
Filaments appear to be directed to each other, see stalked glands in photo through loupe (10X) from iphone (5X) from description from Andy, appears to be P. gentryi, although the totally white flowers are unusual, in a patch of totally lavendar/purple which appear to be P. gentryi (whitish centers and stalked glands on stems) . Have sample, will see if seeds available. second photo shows some purple spots on corolla. Shady gravelly area, near creek but not submerged
As flowers dried, they took on lavendar hue, appeared to have crenulate edges (could be subjective)
P. gentryi far as I can tell
