This is in reference to the smaller fish, not the larger ones.
Recently washed ashore with animal still inside.
Many individuals, 15 - 25 mm long, and their egg masses were present under cobbles in this large, low intertidal pool.
Found attached to underside of a rock (picture). Left in place as didn’t know it was invasive.
Spider crab shells from a mass moult brought ashore by tidal action...covered beach for hundreds of yards, as much as 3 feet deep
Mind blowing discovery, very cool observation.
Very fun to see one of these, I'm used to seeing them on cape cod.
Going purely off ai-suggested species here, this is new to me.
